It is my pleasure to make this final call and invitation to the opening ceremony, plenary and scientific sessions of the First Scientific Conference of the African Society of Drosophilists. The conference will take place at Nigeria’s Premier University, the University of Ibadan between Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th September 2019. The conference will be preceded by a hands-on practical laboratory workshop on the Drosophila use in Biomedical Research between September 15 and 17, 2019.
The Opening Ceremony, an opening round table discussion on Higher Education in Africa (on the 17th September2019), a closing round table discussion on Translational Research (on the 19th September, 2019) and will be held at the Conference Centre in the University. Technical sessions will feature eight plenary lectures from leading experts in Drosophila research from Britain, Spain, South Africa, Japan, Egypt, Brazil and Nigeria in the thematic areas as well as scientific sessions at two centers. Papers for the scientific sessions have been selected based on submitted abstracts.
Come to Ibadan to network with colleagues and learn about recent developments in basic and applied research in Drosophila science and model for study of normal body functions and diseases.
